Floyd Mayweather teases potential UFC bout by stepping inside the octagon as Conor McGregor responds with 'f*** the Mayweathers'

Floyd Mayweather has teased a the idea of himself fighting in the UFC in recent months and the boxing icon went one step further on Tuesday, posting a video of himself stepping into a mixed martial arts cage. With no caption accompanying the clip, The Money Team leader can be seen entering an octagon before pacing up and down as if he were about to engage in an actual MMA bout.  And Conor McGregor, the man who entered the boxing ring to fight Mayweather in a money-spinning Las Vegas showdown in August last year, was quick to notice. He wrote on Twitter: 'Hahahaha very good. Keep up the good work my son. Yours sincerely, Senior.'  The Irishman followed up his response with a picture of himself and his son with the caption *f*** the Mayweathers'. Mayweather set fans' pulses racing last month when he claimed he had been approached by the UFC about a potential MMA fight.  'They just called me not too long ago and asked me to come back,' he said. 'I can come righ…

Anthony Joshua working hard in the gym as he steps up preparations for Joseph Parker showdown

With just over two months to go until his return to the ring, Anthony Joshua is shaping up nicely after putting in the hard yards at the gym. The world heavyweight champion faces Joseph Parker at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on March 31, where he beat Carlos Takam in October. And trainer Jamie Reynolds has shared footage of the 28-year-old stepping up his preparations with various workouts in the gym. With the clock ticking ahead of the fight, Parker has outlined how he feels he can better his opponent. 'I want to fight a fight that's going to be a fast-paced fight… movement, speed and just different angles – I think that's how we are going to attack Joshua,' Parker told Radio Live. 'He's [Joshua] dominated fighters that stand in front of him, that don't move – all they do is protect themselves,' Parker said about Joshua. When it comes to finding a sparring partner, Parker is looking for a similar fighting style to his 6ft 5in, 240-pound opponent Joshua…

Chelsea complete £17.5million deal for defender Emerson Palmieri from Roma

Roma defender Emerson Palmieri has completed his £17.5million move to Chelsea. Palmieri posed for pictures with the shirt on Tuesday evening after completing his medical and penning a four-and-a-half year contract. The Brazilian, who has been assigned the No 33 shirt at Chelsea, left his home in Rome to fly to London earlier in the day.  The 23-year-old left-back underwent several medical tests before putting pen to paper to move to Stamford Bridge. 'I came here because it’s a great team with a great history,' Emerson said. 'Today I am realising one of my dreams to pull on the shirt of such a great club. ‘English football is something I have been watching since I was 15 years old. It is a really beautiful game over here but it is going to be even more beautiful to play it.’ Chelsea have agreed to pay a further £5.2m in bonuses for Palmieri, who is likely to be eligible to face Watford next Monday. The Brazilian had been lined up as part of a double swoop with Edin Dzeko, but Che…

Manchester City bid £50m for Riyad Mahrez as Leicester star hands in transfer request to push through deal - but Foxes say: 'We don't need the cash'

Manchester City will have to break their transfer record for the second time in 48 hours to seal a spectacular deadline-day deal for Riyad Mahrez. Leicester's Algeria winger has put in a transfer request after City, who signed Aymeric Laporte from Athletic Bilbao for £57million on Tuesday, had a surprise bid of £50m rejected. Leicester want nearly twice that for Mahrez, who has two-and-a-half years left on his £100,000-a-week contract. The 26-year-old is desperate to leave and did not train with the rest of his team-mates on Tuesday.  Mahrez may refuse to play at Everton on Wednesday night to force through a move as the clock ticks down on the January window. Pep Guardiola did not rule out signing Mahrez to strengthen his attack for the rest of the season after confirming that Leroy Sane will be out for between six and seven weeks with ankle ligament damage. City are already without striker Gabriel Jesus due to a knee injury.  'It's so difficult,' said Guardiola. 'It ha…

Huddersfield 0-3 Liverpool: Emre Can, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah ensure Jurgen Klopp gets back to winning ways against his old friend

The walk back in to town from Huddersfield’s Stadium is a short one and home supporters will have made it in poor humour last night. Sometimes a couple of debatable refereeing decisions can give you something to hang on to when the rather more sober truth is that your team have just let you down a little bit. Referee Kevin Friend was booed off here and the reason was simple. He did not give Huddersfield a penalty late on when Steve Mounie fell under a challenge from Joel Matip and then, soon after, he did give one after Philip Billing climbed all over Emre Can. The thing is, though, that both decisions were correct. The first was not a foul and the second one was.

Swansea 3-1 Arsenal: Sam Clucas bags double as Mkhitaryan on debut and sold sub Giroud can't save sorry Gunners - 5 talking points

Oliver Giroud couldn't save Arsenal after being deployed from the bench by Arsene Wenger despite a deal being agreed with Chelsea before the match. Sam Clucas bagged a double for Swansea as the sorry Gunners left south Wales with nothing but grief from their travelling fans. Nacho Monreal opened the scoring on 33 minutes for Arsenal but it was all down hill from that point with Clucas finding the equaliser less than 60 seconds later. A Petr Cech howler led to Jordan Ayew slotting the second and Clucas blasted home the third late on. Henrikh Mkhitaryan made his debut off the bench after his move from Man United and could soon welcome former Dortmund team-mate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the Emirates. Here are five talking points from a night to forget for the Gunners.

Latest Football News, Jan. 31, 2018: Leicester tell Manchester City it will take ‘mind-blowing’ offer to sign Mahrez

Manchester City have been told it will take a “mind-blowing” offer to sign Riyad Mahrez from Leicester, with Pep Guardiola understood to be keen on adding the Algeria international to his squad after it emerged Leroy Sané will be sidelined for at least 11 matches. After missing out on Alexis Sánchez Guardiola has identified the PFA Player of the Year for the 2015-16 season as an alternative, with the 26-year-old understood to be keen on moving to the Etihad Stadium. But despite reports in France on Tuesday that City have submitted a bid of €68m for Mahrez, Leicester say they are yet to receive a formal offer and are not keen on selling the player they bought from Le Havre for £450,000 in 2014. Mahrez could now attempt to force their hands by making a transfer request, although that is unlikely to be well received at the King Power Stadium after a similar tactic last summer failed to produce a move. Earlier this month Leicester’s manager, Claude Puel, said it would take a bid of £100m …
